Monthly Favourites

Its finally December and I cannot be more excited for Christmas if I tried !!!

I thought I would share with you a few of my go-to and essentials for the colder months but also a few new favs.

1- My Macbook, recently I started studying Business at Plymouth uni and I needed something to do all my work on.  Of course, because it's me, I went for the rose gold and I couldn't be more in love!!! Alongside that, i purchased a marble laptop case in which I get so many comments on. I got it from Amazon for only £20!

2-  Along with the marble theme is my new drinks flask! As I'm at uni I always love taking in a flask of tea, that's if my close friend Danielle hasn't bought me one.  It keeps my hot drinks warm for good 4-5 hours honestly it's amazing.  It comes in about 7 patterns and now everyone in my family has their own. It was from Aldi for £5.99.

3- Wrapping up warm is essential so my next two items are my Zara leopard blanket sized scarf which was £25.99 and my black beret from Primark for £3.99. Oh my god I love both of these so much! Soo warm and can change the whole outfit.

4- My black fluffy handbag from Newlook. Its a great pretty little thing dupe and due to my staff discount it came to £7.99. It adds an extra level to any outfit by dressing it up.

5- My next two favorites should be classed as yearly favs as they're my go-to beauty products. They are Jo Malone Peony and blush perfume for £47.99 and Rita Ora rain rain go away taupe nail polish!!!

6- Finally my last item was a gift from my dad which was a complete shock to me but it was a silver double G Gucci belt! I literally only wear silver accessories so for me was to die for.

lots of love

Pixi nourishing sleep mask

Everyone, no matter what age or skin type needs a go to moisturiser. Recently as I've been on holiday I've got quite a dark natural tan. But, in order to tan I needed to protect my skin at all costs to prevent burning and peeling. This for me is a real struggle considering I'm verrrry allergic to suncreams. I've tried hundreds. However, this holiday I've finally found one I can wear and not blister in. So this meant I could properly sunbathe and get a nice dark tan. I've found the key to maintain a good dark tan on your face is keeping moisturised.

I love my Liz Earle dearly but felt it wasn't giving me the depth I needed. So I used my other go to skincare brand Pixi and read reviews on some of there products. I managed to pick up a nourishing sleep mask. This product is a MUST if you have dry skin or are even prone to burning and peeling on your face on holiday. I used this every night after a long day in the sun and my skin the next morning was hydrated and glowy.

The product claims to ' An indulgent overnight treatment, Nourishing Sleep Mask creates a lightweight yet nutritive veil between skin and the dehydrating effects of the environment – locking in precious moisture while deflecting skin-ageing free radicals. Enriched with hyaluronic acid – to attract and retain up to 1000x its molecular weight in water – this exhibits a ‘plumping’ effect, while a cocktail of fruit and flowers oils works to soothe, strengthen and kick-start repair. Just apply directly to clean skin, or layer on top of a targeted serum or treatment, to ‘seal’ product into skin and help it to work ‘undisturbed’. You’ll wake to a silky smooth, glowing complexion'.

I completely agree with everything said as its  super light weight effect even makes you feel a bit sceptical when you first use it. However, the morning after your skin will feel like new.

I really recommend trying pixi as everything I've used has been such a game changer.

Happiness

Recently I've just felt a little disheartened with myself. I feel its so easy to listen to nasty comments and being a girl 99% of the time come from girls who ironically post 'empowering women' quotes. I feel as a girl especially one who has worked in placements and did A levels in engineering where sexism is happening that embracing female power is important. From being the 16 year old I was when I started sixthform  to the 19 year old I am now I feel I've matured so much. I've learnt to let go of issues that have upset me and to not argue. This process has made me so much happier. So basically things may seem shitty but honestly it wont be like it forever.  Below I'm gunna put some of my fav quotes to spread happiness and to help empower women in todays world.

At the end of the day all we have is who we are. Be happy, Love life and Love yourself.

Jo Malone

Recently I visited Manchester with my boyfriend to see the Courteeners. I can honestly say hand on my heart I want to move there. So so soooooo friendly. As I was in Manchester I decided to spend a dew pennies in shops I don't have near me. eg; Jo Malone.  In this time I had a hand massage whilst sitting in the extravagant display of back and white in Selfridges. I decided to top up on my iconic pieces from there.

What I love is when someone has an iconic perfume/scent. Like if someone smelled something and though 'ugh that smells of Beth' so for me I've kind of found my ride or die. I did for a while wear No.5 but no one would ever say oo that smells of Beth , they'd just say ooo it smells of chanel as soooo many people wear it. I think that makes sense. But anyway, what I meant was that I found a perfume I love and all my friends know as my kind of smell. For me that's Jo Malone Peony and Blush. I purchased the hand cream and the 44ml perfume.

I feel like if I could work in beauty Jo Malone would be where id wish to work. I'm the saddo that's read all the info on each product.. lol. Jo Malone seems pricey but no joke its worth it for the quality, experience and just how long it lasts.

Jeffree Star

Hey guys wanted to start off by saying sorry I've been m.i.a recently I've been working loads and doing up my bedroom. I'm finally starting to have a photogenic room. Id like to class myself as a bit of a perfectionist and so having my room in a way in which I can fully relax in and be completely organised in became a priority. Anyway , without further ado I will be talking about something which is now a holy grail, jeffree star velour liquid lipsticks.

First of all lets talk about the packaging.... wow. I'm obsessed. Its bright pink with Jeffrees iconic logo at the top in a chrome baby pink. The packaging is fun and playfull and in your face making it stand out from all other lipsticks. I feel this captures Jeffrees OTT extra personality, which I for one am in love with.

The smell is what a lot of people talk about with this product and if you like cream soda then when you smell this you will die. The sweetest smell which isn't too overpowering at all and disappears after applied.

Now lets talk about the product itself. I never really understood why pay £16 or more on a lipstick so always stuck with NYX and at work found myself reapplying every hour. I always spoke to Tommy about a shade that was hardly ever in stock which was mannequin. As my patience grew thin waiting for beauty bay to restock the shade I bought the shade similar to it Celebrity Skin and would you believe it Mannequin came in stock the next day :) loll typical.  I was surprised by tommy that when celebrity skin arrived so did mannequin. I was in love. I wore the creamy mousy lipstick to work and no joke it lasted the whole 9, yes 9 hours. I was shook. Like and now I understand why you'd spend a little more on lipstick. Below are photos of the shades on my hand when wet and dry. (left photo wet and right dry and also left shade mannequin and right celeb skin).

For me the colours are to die for. The whole range has about 30 colours ranging from nude all the way to electric baby blue. So it caters for all individualities and preferences. Lol so because its me I got nude. But I thought if I was spending more id get a colour I could wear everyday rather than one a month. Out of the two Mannequin is my fav as its more of a peachy brown pink whereas celeb skin is a light brown with a hint of pink. Below are photos of me wearing both. (left is mannequin and right is celeb skin).

Overall I'm soooooo impressed with these and will be ordering more payday. I'm tempted to try a more out there colour for me eg: a dark vampy red like unicorn blood.

thanks for reading

lots of love

Intergalactic Bath bomb

Recently I was recommended intergalactic bath bomb from lush. After a crappy day I made a trip into lush and finally purchased the big blue and pink glittery bath bomb. I have always been a bubble bar kind of girl as I thought £4.25 a bath is a little bit of a waste. But let me say this bath bomb not only left me smelling and feeling great, but also made my bath look like an amazing intergalactic sky.

This created a pink, blue and yellow foamy bath. It made my skin feel super soft and fresh due to the peppermint scent. This bath was very aesthetically pleasing creating a dark blue bath filled with glitter.  I adored the glitter but found it left my body covered in golden glitter for hours. I would deffo recommend this but for me I prefer a more scented bath as it helps to make me feel a bit more relaxed and sleepy.

This super hydrating bath bomb creates a refreshing and unique bathing experience and will definitely be one I purchase again.

Aprils favourites

I love reading blog posts or watching youtube videos on reviews of products that people love. Personally I think what better to know someone's honest love for something than a monthly favourites post. This shows someone has used and loved the product. so, ironically , I will be showing you my obsessions for April.

First I will be showing my love for Soap and Glorys sugar crush body scrub. If you haven't smelled this go and do it. ASAP. This is a smashed brown sugar and sweet lime smell.  So, its citrusy but also sweet. This makes it perfect for mornings keeping your body smooth and sweet allllll day. I've never really joined the hype over soap and glory but now I've purchased this I will be buying more from the collection. Plus the price... so bloody affordable.  I was watching one of Zoellas old videos and she raved about this and I was just in boots so just to waste a bit of time before work looked at soap and glory and I was sooo impressed. This shower scrub is a favourite of mine and I'm actually excited for payday to buy more.

On the theme of showering my mum introduced me recently to The body shop. I bought so much like loads. But that's a future blog post. hint hint. Mum recommended the body washes. I love rose or fruity smells for washing. I tend to lean towards fruity smells for the morning as rose makes me tired.  I purchased the largest bottle of satsuma shower gel in the sale for just £10. I have used it for almost a whole month and I barely used any. I smell like satsuma for hours.

I have the biggest Obsession with skin care and trying to make my skin look as glowy and hydrated as possible. Hearing rave reviews about Pixi skin care made me want to try it so bad. I actually found pixi in Marks and Spencers which had their pixi skin care specialist in for the day and she recommended so much for me to try and how to use all the products. I legit left with a list with specific instructions. On the day I bought two things from Pixi and have used them and bloody loved them since. First of all I have been loving Pixi glow tonic. This has helped hydrate my skin and ensure all my red patches are reduced. I would recommend for someone with normal to dry skin with minimal spots but in need of colour correcting.  I can honestly say you need this in your life.
The 2nd thing I got is my favourite thing everrrrrrrrr and will be yours if you want glowy af skin. I have dryishskin so was recommended this to mix 2 drops into my liz earl moisturiser and I've never looked back. Plus I love the smell of rose. Its the rose oil drops. This legit no joke keeps my skin hydrated until the next morning. Ive only used two Pixi products and I cannot wait to buy more.

My April fav tan is Bondi sands but surprise to most people its dark not ultra dark. Recently, I've been loving a subtle bronzed look. I never understood why people spent more money on fake tan.  But after using this tan it makes me see a tan can actually last 2 weeks without needing to be srubbed off.  I love this tan the coconutty smell. plus I wont stink of fake tan.

If you haven't heard of Mario badescu and how amazing their skincare is then where have you been.  I buy quite a bit of that brand from beauty bay. When I get a red under the
skin spots or a painful I put the drying lotion from Mario on and i'll wake up the next day and its gone. Honestly this is magic. I put a thin brush into the pink sediment and just place it directly onto the spot.

This next one isn't a new product but more of a rediscovery for me. That's the Morphe 350 palette. I am so like overwhelmed for the quality and how much you get for the price. 35 colours for £20 is insane.  But the colours and the pigment of these are so worth it as are any Morphe palette.  But the colours of this palette... jesuuss Christ. Warm tones, cool tones and shimmers of brown, orange and soft nude. Just everything about this palette is amaze.

Lastly, I am gunna talk about a recent discovery. I've seen this on so many drugstore favourites as a dupe for Benefits porefessional so gave it a go. This was Maybelline baby skin primer instant pore eraser. I only have a couple of small pores but for me tis works heavenly. I actually think I prefer it to porefessional  as its more gentle but more glowy.
I will be trying from now on to do a monthly favourites each month from now on.

lots of love
