Liz Earl
Finding a good skincare routine can be nearly impossible and also very expensive. knowing your skin type is essential as knowing what oils your skin lack or have too much of can help you to balance them out. I've never had severe acne or spots but at 17 had problematic skin. I would wash my face each day with Simple skincare (not that there is anything wrong with that but it just didn't work for me) I thought because I was washing my face I was cleaning it. However, I eventually learnt how to clean my skin properly and that is what I'm going to share with you today.
1) No matter what skin type you are if you wash your face with warm water the pores will open. This is why I adore Liz Earl hot cloth polish. This is a rich cream which instantly removes your makeup (better than miceller water) even stubborn mascara and helps leave the skin beautifully clean. Some days I wear next to no makeup and then the next I could be wearing full coverage foundation and I will always, always, ALWAYSS, use my hot cloth polish. Basically I press out one pump onto my hand and then rub all over my face with or without makeup on, then rub in circular motion all around my face. The hot cloth polish comes with a muslin cloth which is a thin fibered flannel. I then run this cloth under the hot top (as hot as your face can handle) then press into my face removing all the cream and makeup. The trick with this is that it opens all the pores filled with makeup and dirt and drives them out into the muslin cloth.
2) Now your pores are open the BEST thing to do is exfoliate. This helps remove excess dirt. With this I rub with my fingers straight onto my skin. This really helps with congested skin so I like to focus this on the forehead , chin , nose and jawline. I then rinse off with once again warm water. This step is good for anyone with dry skin as exfoliating helps remove any dead skin cells (dry skin). This for me is my favourite step. Liz earls contains organic oils to help remove dirt in a natural and floral cleanse.
3) From here I always use the instant boost skin tonic. This helps smooth the texture of my skin, adds a glowy finish to it and leaves my skin smelling unreal!!! I adore the smell of roses and this is all it smells of. For this I apply the tiniest bit to a cotton pad and just press of my face, especially in dry areas.
4) Hydration! Hydration is key even if you have oily skin. The thing people don't understand is that if you oily skin you shouldn't moisturise. Wrong, you should moisturise as it helps prevent oil from occurring to make your skin greasy. This requires finding a good oily skin moisturiser. Lush offer a great range of moisturisers for oily skin. But, for me with dry skin I have to use one with extra hydration. so I use the Liz earl moisturiser and I can honestly say its not worth it. This is the only product for me that doesn't work which is such a shame as it smells amazing ! I feel like maybe I need to try out their superskin range by liz earl or some more from lush. I do love Clinique's dramatically different moisturiser however for me find it doesn't hydrate me enough.
Overall Liz Earls skincare range has dramatically improved my skin and made me so so so much more confident. I adore this brand more than anything. I have tried so many brands to do what it says exactly on the tin and I feel Liz Earls does that perfectly. Below I have linked some of the starter kits I have purchased myself. I hope it helps.
lots of love
Beth-grace xx
