welcome
Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog! For a while now I have been obsessed with beauty and skincare and created a Instagram account to post all my pictures and reviews on . However , recently I've felt like I needed something a bit more and talking to a few bloggers decided to set up my own. I will be writing all my own opinions and reviews on products I have bought. please feel free to comment and message me if you have any further questions as id be happy to answer.
In order to get to know me better I thought my first blogpost should be 10 things about me :
1) I am 19 years old from Devon UK. I live right next to the moors and love the countryside. For me a passion of mine has always been art. It was one of the a levels I took. There is no better place to admire natural artwork than in the country side. It was actually one of the main topics for me as I looked into types of rocks for sculptures. I also studied different types of wood and the fungi that grew on them and their effects on the wood. Boring I know but as sad as it sounds I loved it.
2) I currently work at Newlook on a gap year. I finished A levels last year in which I studied Art, Product design and Engineering. I got good grades and got an unconditional to study business in which I'm very excited to start this September. I love clothes and beauty and so working in Newlook makes my gap year a bit more exciting , however doesn't help with saving up at all.
3) I can honestly say I'm addicted to buying skincare and makeup. anyone that knows me knows full well I spend about 80% of my wages on makeup , skincare or clothes. my favourite brands will be included in this blog such as : Liz earl, Too faced, Mac, Benefit, marc Jacobs and many more.
4) I have over 27 different types of foundations just from the past two years. Yes , like I said I'm addicted. I will obviously be reviewing my honest opinions on more than likely all of them.
5) Ever since I was little I've always been creative. I've won art competitions, sewing competitions, in year 7 I even set up my own Knitting club! I always feel expressing yourself is a truly beautiful and brave art whether that is through sewing, clay or makeup. For me I love makeup because you're enhancing your beauty. For instance if you want a bright pink cut crease one day and then a simple bronzey look the next you can. That is why I feel beauty is important as its a way of expressionism.
6) I'm in a relationship. I have been with my partner Tommy for 2 and a half years and he is the best thing to happen to me. He has been very supportive of all my life decisions so far and I can honestly say he's the bestest friend I've ever had. I apologise for the soppiness but its true.
7) My family are extremmmmmly sporty. When I was 14 I had Team GB trials for swimming&Waterpolo. I represented my region, county and country many times and have over 100 medals. My mum is a competitive swimmer and a year in after 26 years out is already hitting my swim times or better. My dad is a surfer and will always take us to cool places for our holidays and this year I plan to learn properly.
8) I first got into makeup when I had my prom makeup done by benefit. The two products I got were Gimme Brow and Hoola and since then I've been hooked. In 2014 I had bleach blonde hair with black roots and spotty skin. Then two months before prom my mum paid March Hair to do my hair properly. I can honestly say that day changed me. I no longer wanted to look grungy but to look pretty and natural. I focused on my diet which helped my skin and by prom I was transformed. The days of using Maybelline gel liner for my eyebrows , YES EYEBROWS were gone.
9) My favourite colour is baby pink. It was the colour of prom dress, the pillows in my room and pretty much every accessory I own.
10) I started a blog today 20/03/2017. I started a blog to write about my favourite beauty products. For me a major lesson I have learnt in the past year is that you cannot please everyone. I was so worried over what people would think of me or if they would even take me seriously that I've put off a lot of things for a while. But, 2017 is the year of change for me, the year I finally become an adult (20) and I thought why not focus on me and make my life the best it can be.
Thankyou for reading my first blogpost.
lots of love
Beth-grace xx
